Local students must be between the ages of 10 to 21 years old; actively involved in a music education program through school or private instructions and must have been studying music for a minimum of 2 years.
Out-of-state students must meet the aforementioned criteria if they are residing with a relative or friend in New Orleans. Students must submit a letter of request, a completed application, an audio CD of a solo performance and a letter of recommendation from his/her music teacher and parents.
Out-of-state students applying for housing at the University of New Orleans must be between 15 and 21 years old, actively involved in a music education program through school or private instructions and must have been studying music for a minimum of 2 years. Swing Dance is presented the last to weeks of the program as part of the Jazz Camp’s daily classes. Swing dance is offered to all Jazz Camp student/musicians. Ten non-musician student dancers between the ages of 13 and 21 may register for Swing Dance courses.
