Darrell Lavigne has been a faculty member of Jazz Camp since 2000 and has performed numerous jazz awareness and Arts in Education Workshops. As one of New Orleans’ most sought after pianists, he has performed with Hugh Masekela, Kirk Whalum, Bill Summers, Kidd Jordan, Kent Jordan and Alvin Batiste to name a few. Darrell composes and arranges music for some of New Orleans’ leading jazz and pop artists. As a music composition major at Xavier University of New Orleans, Darrell studied under the tutelage of symphonic composer Roger Dickerson. In 2002 Darrell was selected best contemporary pianist and jazz all-star by New Orleans Magazine. He is respected as a pianist/multi-keyboardist and continues to compose and produce for a number of artists. Mr. Lavigne also composes music for commercials and film.
